How to register for Assessment

To register for Assessment, you will need to complete all sections of the Registration Form
  • If you are registering as an individual, pressing the 'Submit' button will take you to the payment portal.
  • If you are registering with a corporate PIN your company/organisation has pre-paid the registration fee. You still need to complete the Registration Form.
If you are registering for Assessment you should use the address with which you are registered with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society/General Pharmaceutical Council. Failure to do so may result in a delay in your Certificate being produced.
Once you have registered you have 12 months to complete the Assessment. If you do not complete the Assessment for whatever reason within 12 months you will be asked to re-register.
Assessment can be purchased on its own or together with Learning Materials.
The cost of Assessment is £65 + VAT. This includes, if successful, the issue of a Practice Certificate in Medicines Use Review from the Medway School of Pharmacy.
You may register for Assessment and purchase Learning Materials at the same time for £100 + VAT.

How the Assessment works

1. To pass the online Assessment students must successfully complete three Case Studies.
2. Each Case Study is timed and must be completed within 40 minutes.
3. You can fail up to two Case Studies. If you fail a third Case Study you will have failed the Assessment and will be asked to re-register.
(In other words, you have three "lives". For example, you may have passed your first Case Study, but failed your second and third. You have one 'life' left. You pass your fourth Case Study. You need to pass one more case Study. If you pass your fifth Case Study you will have successfully completed the Assessment. If you fail your fifth case Study you will be asked to re-register.)
4. You do not have to complete all three assessments at one time. You can log off the site having completed a Case Study and log on later using your User Name and Password. This means you can complete Case Studies when you choose to do so.
5. You have 12 months from registration to successfully complete three Case Studies.
6. Once you have attempted your first Case Study you have six months to successfully complete three Case Studies - unless the 12 month expiry date comes first.
7. Students who quit a case study part way through will be deemed to have failed that Case Study, so ensure you set aside adequate time to complete it.
In each Case Study you will:
  1. See a five-minute video clip of a pharmacist carrying out part of an MUR consultation
  2. Be provided with a patient history and patient medication record.
You will then be asked to complete an NHS MUR form for that patient and identify the most appropriate recommendations for the key issues raised, by completing the MUR Action Plan for each patient.
