Welcome to the Skills for MURs online course

Skills for MURs is a PSNC endorsed distance learning course that will enable every community pharmacist to qualify to provide Medicine Use Reviews as an Advanced Service under the 2013 community pharmacy contract for England.

How It Works

Please note: As part of the 2019 Community Pharmacy Contractual Framework negotiations, the decision has been made to phase out the Medicines use Review Service over the next 18 months. The MUR service will be de-commissioned from April 2021. For more detail see the PSNC website.

The Skills for MURs course consists of Learning Materials and Online Assessment. Once you have successfully completed the Assessment you will be awarded a Practice Certificate from the Medway School of Pharmacy. This will allow you to conduct Medicines Use Reviews and the Prescription Intervention Service, specified as an Advanced Service in the 2013 community pharmacy contract for England. The Practice Certificate in 'Medicine Use Review' is worth five academic credits at master's level. These credits can be used towards achieving a Postgraduate Certificate in Medicines Optimisation within the Medway Short Course Pathway.

For more details about how the course works, see About The Course.

For more information on this and on other postgraduate study at the Medway School of Pharmacy please visit the Medway School of Pharmacy Postgraduate study page.

Please note that the Medway School of Pharmacy is currently operating on a virtual campus. This means that no physical copies of certificates are currently being generated. Please use your temporary certificates until the physical copy of your certificate can be generated, this is what it is for. We will generate and post certificates earned as a matter of priority once the university campus reopens.
